SCBHA is a pointing dog field trial club. It is a club that is made up
of several regional clubs within the state of South Carolina.
The SCBHA is a member of the
National Bird Hunter's Association (NBHA).
The NBHA is a member of the American Field Trial Club of America (AFTCA)
who is the "recognized" sponsor by the American Field. The SCBHA runs
field trials that are recognized by the American Field including both
amateur and open trials. This includes Puppy, Derby, and Shooting Dog
stakes. In addition to these events the SCBHA offers the Gun Dog stake.
This stake is similar to the National Shoot to Retrieve Association (NSTRA)
field trials. If you have ever participated in a NSTRA field trial then you
will want to run your dog in the SCBHA Gun Dog stake.
