Gundog Championship News

Update from Ernie Ashby (Gundog Coordinator)

Fall & Spring Gundog Classics – The Gundog Championship field trials targeted for fall and spring have been renamed as follows:
  • SCBHA Gundog Fall Classic – November 6, 2005
  • SCBHA Gundog Spring Classic – February 19, 2006
Both the Fall & Spring Classics will be open to the first 32 dogs that are registered. A prior placement is not required to run in either of these Classics. Both of these Classics will be a “single” point field trial. No double points will be awarded. The only “double” point field trial will be the SC State Classic. This is to keep in “proper” alignment with the NBHA field trial rules. To run in the SC State Classic a prior placement is required to qualify since this is considered the Gundog Championship. Any dog that placed in the prior year SC State Classic will be allowed to enter the following year.

The Classics will be held at Cedarcreek Shooting Preserve near Bishopville, SC.

Ernie Ashby is currently organizing these events, but needs volunteers to help setup & run the event. If you can help, please call him at (803) 781-3404 or email him ernroe@yahoo.com.
